Canadian Idol Top Eight

So it was '80's night on Canadian Idol. Mavis and I both started to pay attention to our own music in the '80's (not together, didn't meet until the grunge era) so it always good to reminis. How could no one do Corey Hart!

Amber Fleury

Mavis: This is probably as upbeat as she gets - underwhelmed (Pops: if that's a word, I know it's not, 'cause I looked it up)
Pops: She can sing with the country vibe. Very little prescence though. Not bad. Not great.

Rex Goudie

Mavis: Song is awesome but I've heard it so many times - not too strong on the high parts. Sting maybe not a good choice.
Pops: I get less impressed with him each week. Very plain-jane.

Casey Leblanc

Mavis: Wonderful at the beginning then she didn't sell it - dances as bad as I do.
Pops: I have visions of my high school talent night. But the marching really helped.

Daryl Brunt

Mavis: Sugary sweet tainted love with some nice notes and scary eyes.
Pops: Oh my God! He turned it into "putting on the ritz". Creepy!

Suzi Rawn

Mavis: I'm back in the '80's. She's done it. Great vibe.
Pops: She's got the '80's vibe down perfect. She delivered.

Aaron Walpole

Mavis: Awful!
Pops: I am finished with this guy. Extra Cheezy!

Josh Palmer

Mavis: He certainly makes the song his own, this time it was way too freaky.
Pops: That was terrible! O Lord indeed. He started on too high a note and never recovered.

Melissa O'Neil

Mavis: Definately had an '80's feel - kind of ran out of breath midway - chorus is weak (song's fault not hers)
Pops: Just not strong enough.

Bottom Three

Mavis: Mellisa O'Neill, Aaron Walpole and Daryl Brunt going home.
Pops: Josh Palmer, Aaron Walpole and Daryl Brunt going home. Even though I am not a fan of hers, how can Suzi Rawn lose this thing. She is the only one with any skill.
